Para Llevar

A mighty wood burning oven is the centerpiece of this simple to-go window offering wonderful pizzas, salads, and the occasional specialty sandwich. Don’t miss their small market where you can find everything you might need for a day on the road.

The Sentinel

Pick up a coffee or a cocktail , a plate of tacos or pozole, and a copy of the local newspaper (The Sentinel) and sit out on the patio at this beautifully restored building in town. Pick up some home goods or gifts by local artists and makers in the front space near the bar.

Convenience West BBQ

We've had about 10,000 lifetimes worth of BBQ and can confidently say that Convenience West is one of our all time favorites. Their meat is the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and smoky and you'll also find some totally original menu items. Texas Monthly recently named them one of Texas' 50 best BBQ joints for good reason.

Cochineal

For a special meal, we recommend a reservation at Cochineal, where you can enjoy an incredible multi-course menu of seasonal, local ingredients. During the week they have a more casual, yet still delicious, tapas menu for walk-ins.

Marfa Burrito

Marfa Burrito is a must stop for any trip to Marfa. Their small but mighty selection of breakfast burritos (which are surprisingly huge) will leave you full and happy. Bring cash and be sure to tip after you order at the window!

Jett’s Grill

Jett's Grill serves up classic dishes in their historic patio and bar made famous by the actors (James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, and Dennis Hopper) who stayed here while filming the movie Giant. They make an amazing burger (aptly called the Giant Burger) and a great margarita.

Wienertown!

Only open on the weekends, local favorite, Wienertown!, has a selection of hot dogs with creative toppings like queso, kimchi, and chili that you can order ahead and pick up from the window of their quaint but mighty food stand. They also make a great breakfast taco.

The Marfa Spirit Co

Located in the historic Godbold building, the Marfa Spirit Co is a distillery offering incredible sotol cocktails, food, and an amazing communal atmosphere.

Do Your Thing

Do Your Thing makes the perfect coffee, latte, matcha, flat white, you name it. Sit inside by their indoor fireplace and choose from their menu of beautifully topped toasts, like the Solidarity Toast made with avocado, tahini, and za'atar, or the Nothing Honey Toast with organic almond butter, honey, and salt. All the toasts are made on the most incredible homemade sourdough.

The Water Stop

Named after Marfa's origins as a water stop along the train route, The Water Stop is famous for their perfectly prepared rotisserie chicken. They also offer a wide selection of inventive cocktails, generous plates of food for both dinner, lunch, and brunch, and a lovely patio.

Margarets

Located a few blocks down Highland, Margaret's is a welcome newcomer to Marfa, located in the historic Brite building. Margaret's serves up elevated American classics and wine in this cozy space. Don't skip out on the hot fudge sundae!

Food Shark

You can't miss Food Shark, a lunch-only food truck serving up amazingly fresh Mediterranean fare surrounded by old cars and a few buses.

Aster

Just down the block from Highland Adobe you'll find some of the best freshly baked pastries you've ever had. In addition to their wide selection of heavenly baked goods, they have breakfast and brunch items like bagels & lox, steel cut oatmeal, pancakes, and a great burger.

Marfa Wine Co

Marfa Wine Co is stocked with some of the best wines you can find. In their diverse collection, you can also find local wines as well as natural and organic options. Their patio is great for sitting out and enjoying a glass of wine on a sunny Marfa afternoon.

Cactus Liquors

Cactus Liquors is the best liquor store in the world, period. They have one of the most incredible and vast collections of spirits one could imagine, and are especially well stocked with an array of Sotol from Mexico as well as Tequilas and Mezcals. They have a few pantry items as well as an amazing desert plant shop right outside.

Capri

The Capri is one of the most beautiful bars in the West, with an incredible outdoor garden. They have excellent craft cocktails and also offer innovative modern plates of seasonal, rustic food.

Siempre

Siempre’s patio is our favorite place to sip a mezcal cocktail and enjoy chips and queso in the sunshine
